Roman or Rolled-up Pinoleum blinds are available.  A great plus with pinoleum blinds is the diffused nature of light they allow between the strips of wood.  As with pleated, they can create a dramatic look and lighting effect in your conservatory.  The disadvantage with Pinoleum is their inability to reflect the light and if the light comes in, the heat comes in too.  This can be a real problem if you want to control heat and light, in which case this type of blind is unlikely to suit your needs.  It is possible to fix reflective material to the back of pinoleum blinds, but this greatly reduces the lighting effect which is one of the nicest aspects of pinoleum blinds.

Roller Blinds

The biggest offender in a conservatory is the sun, often making your lovely garden room either too hot to sit or full of glare which can make watching tv impossible.  Also, the heat, UV rays and light can damage your valuable furniture and ruin your favourite plants. Now most people don’t want to entirely block out the light otherwise what would be the point of a conservatory. Roller blinds are a very versatile solution, while not as attractive as pinoleum or pleated blinds, they do offer a very practical solution. Also, they are great value and are usually at the lower end of the budget range. Roller blinds come in either standard sizes or made to measure. Or you can even adjust them yourself. Another advantage is that as they are typically made from synthetic material, roller blinds can be easily cleaned. Also, you can get reflective material to help keep the conservatory cool in winter and the heat out in the summer. Roller blinds are the easiest type of blind to fit yourself. The blind sits between two brackets that are fixed to the inside or outside of the window recess.
